“The Story of the Promise Button”
Why the Promise Button?
There’s something about the spoken Word of God. It moves us. It can be refreshing, startling and comforting all at the same time. The main idea behind the button is to spread the spoken Word of God and to remind people that God loves them and has wonderful promises woven throughout the scriptures. We are passionate about God’s Word. We take it seriously. We believe it has power to accomplish exactly what it says. So, we wanted to offer a unique and novel way to enjoy the spoken Word of God.
The Promise Button Story
The Promise Button idea was birthed in the midst of business, ministry and community converging all around us with such force that we found we needed constant prayer. We were often in over our heads, with problems we didn’t know how to solve. We would pray and amazing wisdom and solutions would come to us. It was almost too easy. We were often blessed with a “timely word” (Proverbs 15:23). Through repeated times of coming together to pray, we found the promises of God to be central to the wisdom we received.
One such day, inspiration struck: “Wouldn’t it be cool if we pressed a button and out came a promise of God?”. Agreed, but we were busy with work, family and ministry and weren’t looking for another project to undertake. The idea was set aside. Some time later, in a meeting about business and ministry, the idea came to life again. This time it had power behind it, fueled by God’s Spirit. We knew then it was time to create the Promise Button.
The Promise Button was founded by Todd and Mike. Hi there! We are bi-vocational ministry leaders who love the spoken Word of God. It’s a big part of what we do. By God’s grace, the ministry was making an impact and was taking more and more of our time and focus. We didn’t feel the right path was to pursue a purely donation-dependent ministry. We wanted to have a business that not only created value and took care of people, but also supported ministry initiatives. When God released us to develop the Promise Button, we knew we had found a way to do just that. Your support of the Promise Button will help advance impactful, Christ-centered ministries around the world.
To this end, Isaiah 58:10-11 is particularly meaningful to us, and has been a constant source of inspiration. Of course, this is one of the scriptures on the button:
“If you extend your soul to the hungry And satisfy the afflicted soul, Then your light shall dawn in the darkness, And your darkness shall be as the noonday. The LORD will guide you continually, And satisfy your soul in drought, And strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail”.
Our goal at Promise Button is to bring the hope of God’s promises to people in a fun and unique way. We are even hopeful that God will bring out just the right scripture in just the right time for whoever presses the button. In fact, we have experienced this time after time ourselves and we certainly expect it to happen to you. Enjoy the Promise Button!
